Progress on Texturing

In this post I will describe my progress on texturing of two main cars in our animation.

First, I needed to remodel the geometry of the cars which were given to me in order to get UV maps as they were not exporting properly from the original mesh. Then I painted textures in Substance Painter using layers and different materials, adjusting roughness and metalness to get the right look. The textures were exported as PBR roughness and metalness and assigned to the mesh in Maya. The headlights textures are made in Maya.

There are some rendered images of the textures. (Frank's car above, Eddie's car below.)
