Lighting

Lighting was going to be a main concern in our film. With all of the reflections from the cars and the mall windows, it was going to be hard to get the perfect lighting.

We went for a setting around midday in the summer time. To get this effect, I used Rendermans 'Environment DayLight' tool to create the sky. With this tool you can set the 'Sky Tint' and the 'Sun Tint' which was a big help for me. I set the sky to a light blue to get the colour you see in the above image. I had also set the sun to a very light yellow, this is so you can still get the feel of a warm sun glow but it doesn't overpower the scene with yellow.

With this tool you can also set the longitude and latitude to get the feel of a nice bright day I set these to Australian longitude and latitude. These were, 25.2744° S, 133.7751° E and the end result we were happy with is in the picture above.
