Texturing

With having modelled the cars and most of the assets, it was in my hands to start texturing and getting that stylised image we were planning on.

I ended up texturing all the characters, and the assets within the scene.

With both main characters I used the PxrDisney material which is default with Renderman. I found the the best setting with this material was the preset 'clay', this preset presented us with that stylised feel we had been wanting. I also applied sub-surface scattering, especially on the skin to get the effect of blushes and different skin tones.

Texturing the assets was the same process as the characters, however instead of using the clay preset, I used the default preset and the glass material to get the effects you see in the scene.

For the glass I had to tint the windows by making the glass thick instead of thin, when you apply the glass material there is an option whether to do this. I found that this look on the glass worked the best.

I used the default PxrDisney shader for the rest of the assets because it gave the cartoon look we desired and fit the scene perfectly, there were no issues with too many reflections, or objects not matching the film.
